Joseph Miller Foster, born February 2nd 1835, graduated from Jefferson college, Cannonsburg, Aug 5th 1857. He enlisted in Co. I. 62Nd regiment, state malitia, in July 1863, for three months service.

Sept 25th 1866, he married Catherine Jane Moore, second daughter of William and Jane Robinson Moore, of Saltsburg Pa. She died at their residence, 5440 Homehorst street, Pittsburgh Pa, Oct 19th 1912, aged 71 years 3 months and 22 days. Her body is interred in Edgewood cemetery, Saltsburg Pa.

They had four children. Elsie robinson, William Kincaaid, Mary Edna, and Ernest Moore.

Elsie Robinson became a stenographer and Mary Edna became a book-keeper. They are both employed in Pittsburgh and live with their father in the East End.

William Kincaid, graduated from Lafayette college and became and investment counsellor, married Clara Isabel Lang, and resides in Rochester N.Y. They have two sons, William Kennedy and Joseph Arnold.

Ernest Moore, is employed as a clerk in the Mellen National Bank of Pittsburgh Pa. He married Sarah Ewing, and they have one child, a son, David Ewing.
